SRD Status Check – what does my status mean?

The Special COVID-19 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) Grant was announced and implemented by the South African government, after the devastating affects of job loss, and therefore income loss, for millions of people in South Africa living in poverty. The SRD grant was specifically intended for people between the ages of 18 and 60 years, without income protection and little to no source of income.

If you applied for the SRD Grant and are confused as to what your SRD status means, we will explain what each status means and what you should do next.

If you have not applied for the SRD grant yet, visit the SASSA SRD Grant page to apply.
