SASSA SRD Grant – Do I have to “Reconfirm”?
Recipients of the SASSA SRD R350 grant should note that they do NOT have to reconfirm their grant every 3 months (it was a previous requirement to reconfirm your SRD grant every 3 months, but SASSA has since phased this out), so you do not have to do anything!
SASSA made this announcement on their social media platforms in September 2022 – see below:
If you have made an application or reapplication for the SRD grant anytime after April 2022, then your R350 grant will be automatically considered each month until March 2023 (we will update here if you need to take any further steps to reconfirm your SRD grant after March 2023).

If you still meet the criteria for the Social Relief of Distress Grant (SRD Grant), then you have no reason to worry – your grant should automatically be approved each month. A reminder of the SRD grant criteria: you must be between the ages of 18 and 60 years old, you must be a South African Citizen/ Refugee/ Asylum Seeker/ Special Permit Holder, you must be residing in South Africa, you must not be receiving more than R624 into your bank account each month, you must also not be employed or receiving financial support from any other source, you cannot be receiving any other social grants, you cannot be receiving a stipend from NSFAS and you must not be contributing towards or eligible for UIF payment.
Remember, if any of your personal information or financial situation has changed since you applied for the SRD grant, you are advised to update your information on the SRD website
