SASSA SRD Appeal “Meanstest” Status – What to do
If you applied for the Covid-19 SRD grant (Apply here for the SRD Grant), you received a notification that your application was declined (read reasons why your SRD grant may have been rejected) and you do NOT agree with the decision, you do have the right to submit an appeal with the Department of Social Development and have your application reassessed.
Find out how to submit your SRD Grant Appeal here
If you have submitted your appeal and now received the “meantest” status outcome, you may be wondering what it means. Here is what it means:
Means test is the process whereby SASSA checks if any funds have entered into the bank account of applicants who have been declined after reconsideration, to test whether they meet the criteria of the grant.
SASSA checks if any funds have entered into the applicants bank account during the previous month.
If there has been no funds entering the account, the recipient will then be approved and their grant paid. If there has been funds entering the account, the applicants grant will remain declined.
