KZN SASSA Beneficiaries must collect Grants at ATMs and Retailers
If you are a SASSA Grant beneficiary and you reside in KwaZulu-Natal, you should collect your grant money from an ATM or retailer near you, from 3 October 2023.
SASSA issued a media statement informing KZN beneficiaries that Post Office branches in KwaZulu-Natal province are expecting to not have enough cash to pay beneficiaries, as a result of delays in cash delivery.
To recap:
- SASSA Grants are to be paid on 3 October 2023 (Old Age Grant), 4 October (Disability Grant) and 5 October (Child Grant).
- Grants can be collected from any ATM (including Capitec, Standard Bank, Absa, FNB, Nedbank or other ATM).
- Grants can be collected from specific retailers: Boxer, Pick n Pay, Spar, Shoprite and Usave.
- KwaZulu-Natal Post Office branches will remain open and operate as per normal, to assist social grants beneficiaries with none-cash related services (such as PIN resets).
SASSA recipients are asked to avoid trying to withdraw their grant money at South African Post Office branches, as there is not enough cash available.
SASSA recipients who have a gold card can use their card as a regular bank card – this means, the gold card can be used to make cash withdrawals from any bank ATM, swiped at any Point of Sale point and used to withdraw cash at specified retailer till points.
